Each CIFF46 ticket, voucher, and pass is a revocable license that may be withdrawn, and access refused, at any time at the sole discretion of the Cleveland International Film Festival.
Sharing your CIFF46 Membership Passes with any other individual or sharing your CIFF46 Streams access with another individual outside of your household is considered an act of piracy, which will be monitored, and any violations will result in the automatic suspension of CIFF46 access without refund.
Due to the streaming environment of CIFF46 Streams (April 10-17, 2022), streaming ticket purchases are limited to one ticket per film per order. All CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs are limited to one stream per film or shorts program per ticket and per passholder account.
Streaming Window:
All films and shorts programs included in CIFF46 Streams are available for On Demand streaming during CIFF46 Streams (from 11:00 AM ET on Sunday, April 10, 2022 through 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, April 17, 2022 on a first-come, first-served basis or until a film is SOLD OUT). For a list of all films and shorts programs included in CIFF46 Streams, visit the Schedule page and checkmark the box for the “CIFFSTREAMS ONLY” filter.
Redemption Window:
CIFF46 Streams tickets can only be redeemed once and have a Redemption Window of 48 hours (or until 11:59 PM ET on April 17, 2022 when CIFF46 Streams ends) in which the associated film or shorts program can be streamed. The Redemption Window begins when the ticket holder redeems the ticket (by clicking “Play” on the film or shorts program). Do not click "Play" until you are ready to stream the film or shorts program in full. While CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs can be temporarily rewound or paused during the 48-hour redemption window, the player must remain open and the stream must remain paused in order to resume streaming. Trying to resume streaming after the player has been closed, after the film or shorts program has been stopped, or after you have moved to another device or another location, will result in being unable to finish streaming the film or shorts program because it can only be redeemed once.
Streaming Cap:
Every film in the CIFF46 Streams program is limited to a maximum number of available streams (or a Streaming Cap). For CIFF46 Streams passholders, we suggest prioritizing the films you really want to see first when creating your personal streaming schedule as CIFF46 Streams tickets are subject to sell outs. For CIFF46 Streams programming updates, visit our Latest Updates page.
Geo Restrictions:
Films screening online during CIFF46 Streams (April 10-17, 2022) are available for streaming nationwide in the United States and Puerto Rico, unless otherwise noted. Some films are geo-restricted to viewers regionally (in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania). Geo-restrictions on films are listed under the “Access” section of the film’s description page. Applying the “Watching From” filter on the Schedule page will generate a listing of all CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs available to stream from a specific location. Please note: Geo-restrictions are based on the current location (and IP address) of the viewer while streaming and are not determined by the primary address or residency of viewers.
Disable dynamic IP addresses and VPNs while streaming CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs as this will result in being unable to stream. Changing IP addresses, internet connections, or devices mid-stream prompts our platform to view that as a potential act of piracy. Refrain from changing locations or internet connections while streaming as streaming will stop, and you will be unable to continue streaming that film or shorts program.
CIFF46 tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged, except in the case of a canceled screening or film. Exchanges, when possible, will be subject to a $2 processing fee per order. Refunds, when possible, will not be issued after 7:00 PM ET on April 9, 2022 for CIFF46 @ PSQ in-person tickets and vouchers, and will not be issued after 11:00 PM ET on April 17, 2022 for CIFF46 Streams tickets. Tickets to in-person screenings during CIFF46 @ PSQ (March 30-April 9, 2022) cannot be exchanged for tickets to online screenings during CIFF46 Streams (April 10-17, 2022) and vice versa. Unused tickets, vouchers, and passes cannot be refunded or exchanged.
CIFF is not responsible for physical or technical disruptions to the extent that performance is prevented by force majeure (conditions beyond the control of CIFF, including acts of nature, acts of terrorism, voluntary or involuntary compliance with any regulation, law, or order of any government, war, acts of war (whether war be declared or not), labor strike or lock-out, civil commotion, epidemic, failure or default of public utilities or common carriers, destruction of production facilities or materials by fire, earthquake, storm or like catastrophe). Refunds and exchanges on CIFF46 Streams (April 10-17, 2022) tickets, vouchers, and passes will not be issued for technical difficulties with an individual's infrastructure or equipment.
Playhouse Square and its theatres are private property. CIFF tickets, vouchers, and passes cannot be sold within the premises of Playhouse Square. Doing so will result in permanent removal from the Festival and Playhouse Square.
CIFF Memberships are annual and only valid for one Festival cycle. The majority of members will be issued a renewal date one year from the membership purchase. However, CIFF Memberships will not be issued for two Festival cycles. As a result, CIFF Memberships purchased in March or April will be issued a renewal date at the end of February for the following year.
CIFF Memberships are per individual. Memberships and passes cannot be transferred or shared with other individuals. Members in violation of this will have their membership revoked without refund.
CIFF Memberships are tax deductible to the maximum amount allowed by law unless otherwise noted. CIFF members receive goods and services in exchange for their contribution, the value of which often exceeds their contribution, depending on the level of use. With the exception of members at the VIP Passholder level, it is up to the individual to determine the tax deductible value of their contribution based on their level of use.
By purchasing a CIFF Membership you agree to adhere to the CIFF Code of Conduct. Failure to observe organizational policies regarding member conduct at CIFF events and in CIFF spaces may result in termination of membership without refund.

For most screenings, passholders will be admitted into theatres 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of the screening. However, early arrival does not guarantee admission.
For most screenings, ticket holders will be admitted into theatres 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the screening. Late arrival may result in not being admitted.
General admission seating for ticket holders is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket holders will line up in the lobby of the theatre, and their ticket will be scanned for admittance to the screening.
Passholder seating is also available on a first-come, first-served basis. Passholders will line up in the lobby of the theatre, and their pass will be scanned for admittance to the screening.
Seat saving is not permitted.
Festival personnel may refuse to permit late seating.
All patrons must leave the theatre following each screening and take any personal belongings.
Seating policies are enforced at all CIFF theatres, although the number of available seats for ticket holders and passholders will vary based on the theatre.
Only a portion of the in-person tickets to a CIFF46 @ PSQ (March 31-April 9, 2022) in-person screening are sold in advance so we can save room for our passholders who do not have to indicate in advance which screenings they will be attending. As a result, even for crowded screenings, we can often accommodate additional patrons just before show time.
Once all regular tickets to an in-person screening have sold, a film goes on Stand By. For screenings on Stand By, numbered Stand By tickets are sold beginning one hour before show time (be aware that a line sometimes forms earlier than this) at the Stand By Boothlocated outside of the Outcault Theatre at Playhouse Square.
Just before show time, if seats are available after passholders and ticket holders have been admitted, Stand By ticket holders are admitted, in numerical order, on a space-available basis until the theater is full. On the rare occasion that a screening reaches capacity, a film will then be SOLD OUT. Those who are not admitted receive a replacement voucher or cash refund. Cash or vouchers only; no checks or credit cards accepted at Stand By.
Hint: buy your tickets early or, better yet, become a passholder-level member to avoid Stand By and Sell Outs!
All films in the CIFF46 Streams program are limited to a maximum number of available streams and are therefore available to stream on a first-come, first-served basis until sold out. Once all tickets to a film are sold, the film will be marked as “TICKETS SOLD OUT'' on the CIFF website. Pre-existing ticket holders for that film and CIFF passholders will still be able to stream the film. When a film’s status has been marked “TICKETS SOLD OUT” and the passholder streaming cap on a film is reached, the film’s status will be updated to “SOLD OUT'', and the film will be unavailable to stream for passholders. However, pre-existing ticket holders for the film will still be able to stream the film. We suggest you prioritize the films you’d like to stream first.
All CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs are limited to a maximum number of streams set by distributors and therefore, all CIFF46 Streams films and shorts programs are available on a first-come, first-served basis until sold out. Tickets to films may sell out (TICKETS SOLD OUT) and films may become unavailable to stream for passholders (SOLD OUT).
Most independent and international films are unrated by the M.P.A.A.Therefore, viewer discretion is advised, and any content warnings in a film or shorts program’s description should be heeded.

Sharing your CIFF46 Streams tickets, memberships, or passholder access with another individual outside of your household is considered an act of piracy, which will be monitored, and any violations will result in an immediate suspension of CIFF46 Streams access without refund.
