Playful and sexy, PIE IN THE SKY is a road movie, but not in the traditional sense. Conceived inside his parents' car during gridlock, Charlie has spent his life watching traffic, clocking rush hours and idolizing the distant voice of radio drive-time reporter Alan Davenport (John Goodman). Charlie has few other interests, but one of them is Amy, an on-again-off-again sweetheart since childhood. When Charlie impulsively motors to Los Angeles - "the Mecca of traffic" - on the merest hint of a job opportunity under Davenport, he encounters Amy again, but their route to romance is paved with more than one pothole and a few tricky detours. Cooler than Orange County asphalt, Bryan Gordon's new comedy blends California's unequivocal love for the automobile with an unconventional love story and a cast of familiar faces in surprising roles.
