REVOLUTION OF PIGS
(Sigadur Revolutsioon)

Year: 2004
Country: ESTONIA
Language: Estonian
Run Time: 95 minutes

A bawdy summer teen movie set in the 1980s at a Socialist camp, REVOLUTION OF PIGS features sex-crazed teens, satirized Soviet kitsch and muted nostalgia. Two teams at the camp, the Krootse and the Hundissaare, battle to win a trip to the Russian Black Sea coast. As in most teen films, there are the nerds, the popular kids and the dropouts. But the dropouts here risk being drafted into the Soviet army and fighting in Afghanistan, and everyone worries about getting laid. Small-time politics erupt in the camp ? a flyer against the invasion of Afghanistan is circulated ? and a countryside ramble by the Krootse team in which they find a sty of dead pigs and piglets affects them deeply. They decide to put on their holiday competition in symbolic pig masks, outraging the camp counselors, escalating into a real rampage.
