Nine-year-old Xi He has been diagnosed with autism. Any changes to his daily routine can cause serious anxiety. His condition has led to a number of outbursts at school, the most recent involving biting. The school’s administrators have sympathy for the boy, offering him several chances to change his behavior. However, his classmates’ parents have had enough. They’ve united in their fear and are now leading an effort to get him expelled. In China, autism is incredibly misunderstood. The parents show little compassion or understanding for Xi He’s
situation. To ease the tension, the school has suggested he be sent to a special education program, but his mother refuses. Believing in her son’s potential, she’s now dedicated herself to ensuring he has a normal life. With the odds stacked against her, the fight to get her son back in school won’t be easy. But she knows the mission is bigger than that. In DESTINY the battle for autism awareness in China has just gained its fiercest warrior. Never underestimate the strength of a mother’s love.
