CIFF42 to Include CIFF²: Connecting & Illuminating Future Filmmakers
The CIFF is thrilled to announce the second year of its CIFF² (“CIFF-squared”) program – Cleveland International Film Festival’s: Connecting & Illuminating Future Filmmakers. The program with the big name is doing big things for young filmmakers in the community.
CIFF² connects local minority female and non-binary students in grades 9 - 12 with a select group of women-of-color filmmakers who have directed films in the Festival. The program is designed to provide an environment that addresses subjects of identity, equality, and perseverance in the filmmaking community. The students have the opportunity to attend select screenings, interact with filmmakers, and experience the Festival from a filmmaker’s point of view. Participating students will produce a short film chronicling their time spent in the CIFF² program.
Student applications are now being accepted through February 1, 2018. For details on the program and how to apply, please visit www.clevelandfilm.org/ciff2.
The 42nd Cleveland International Film Festival will take place April 4 – 15, 2018 at Tower City Cinemas and select neighborhood locations. For information on the CIFF, please visit www.clevelandfilm.org.
The Cleveland International Film Festival is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
