CIFF44 Offers Free Festival Screening

The 44th Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) is offering a free Festival screening at its future and permanent home, Playhouse Square.

On Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 7:00 PM, CIFF will screen ON BROADWAY at the stunning Connor Palace at Playhouse Square. The film, directed by Oren Jacoby, is described as a cinematic love letter to the theater.

Highlighting Broadway’s history and some of its most groundbreaking shows (including A Chorus Line, Cats, Rent, and Hamilton), ON BROADWAY is a star-studded documentary featuring interviews with Hugh Jackman, Helen Mirren, Ian McKellen, and more.

Filmgoers will have access to two complimentary tickets per order while supplies last (there will be a $4 handling fee per order placed online or by phone). Tickets will be available to CIFF members on Friday, March 6 beginning at 11:00 AM, and to non-members on Friday, March 13 beginning at 11:00 AM. Once available, tickets can be secured online (clevelandfilm.org), or by phone (1.877.304.FILM), or in-person at the Film Festival Box Office located in the lobby of Tower City Cinemas.

This screening is presented in partnership with Playhouse Square.

CIFF will permanently move the Festival to Playhouse Square in 2021. The move, which follows a 14-year run at the Cedar Lee Theatre and a 30-year run at Tower City Cinemas, will mark the Festival’s third home in the organization’s history.

The 44th Cleveland International Film Festival will be held March 25 – April 5, 2020 at Tower City Cinemas. More than 600 screenings will take place during the 12 days of the Festival, with over 400 guest filmmakers from around the world in attendance. CIFF44 program details will be available at clevelandfilm.org on Friday, February 28, with Program Guides hitting the streets the week of March 2. The Cleveland International Film Festival is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
